Brian Cable is the Manager of the Airworthiness Certification Section in the FAA’s Aircraft Certification Service. In this capacity, Mr. Cable oversees the management of regulatory and policy development for the issuance of airworthiness certificates for aircraft to include UAS. He works directly with the FAA offices for Unmanned Vehicles, Flight Standards, and Air Traffic as well as the public to develop policies that effectively and efficiently allow integration of UAS into the national airspace system.
Mr. Cable joined the Aircraft Certification Service in 1999 as an Aviation Safety Inspector. Prior to becoming a manager, he oversaw the Aircraft Certification Systems Evaluation Program and was a principal in the ISO9000 certification for the Aircraft Certification Service (AIR), Flight Standards Service (AFS), and Aviation Safety Service (AVS). Before that, Mr. Cable worked as a flight test engineer at Patuxent River, Maryland. Mr. Cable received his degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland in 1988.
